On a rather cold morning this past December we had the pleasure of chatting with Mr. Baptiste Giannesini a French-Corsican living in Germany, he shared his dislike for coffee, and his dream of living in Japan.

What's your first thought when you wake up?

My first thought belongs to my breakfast, I’m always starving in the morning.

Coffee or tea?

I’m a tea man. Unfortunately I don’t like coffee’s taste, but wish I did, I love the idea of sitting in a coffee shop sipping coffee.

Are you a perfect man? In your opinion, what does it take to be The Perfect Man?

Of course, I’m not perfect because perfection is subjective and it all depends on you, the person deep within you interact with. In my opinion a perfect man needs a big manor, he needs a cave, dresses like a bat and kicks bad guys asses on the street.

How can we get the Baptiste Giannesini physique?

I do workout, but my routine isn’t so tough. It needs to be easy to do everyday, I like to work out regularly. It consists of jumping rope, running, push ups, abs, and boxing most of the time. I take a day off then when my body tells me to I have a rest and I trust “him”, he’s a good partner. Ahaha!

Gym or personal trainer? A detox drink?

I don’t have a personal trainer, sometimes it’s good to get one for a while, just to push yourself further. I don’t have a detox drink but during the month, sometimes I do a mono-diet for one or two days and it’s always with apples.

What do you wear to workout?

I wear sport clothes, my favorite brand is x-bionic for tops and pants, and Hoka One One for running shoes. I don’t wear anything for sport just because it looks cool but because it’s effective. My body is my tool and I must care for it. Most people get gear because it looks good, then they get knee or back pain and they don’t know why, it’s probably their running shoes. You have to watch your foot shape when buying running shoes, my feet have a supinator shape.

Boxers or briefs?

I wear briefs or slip, like we say in france. In my opinion they make the body look better.

What swimwear do you prefer, shorts or speedos?

Speedo or should I say maillot de bain.

What are you wearing right now?

A white shirt, black jeans (high waisted shirt inside), chains on the right pocket that connect on back, Doc Martens boots, I keep it simple and timeless.

A fragrance?

I am wearing Tom Ford Tobacco Vanilla right now.

What’s your favorite body part?

My little toes, the smallest ones on each side bend. It’s like they’re rebels they both don’t want to stay straight like the others toes.

What made you become a model, and how were you discovered?

To keep it short, a friend of mine had shown a selfie of himself to a guy who was working in the industry, and I just happened to be in that selfie. The guy asked my friend who I was, he contacted me and asked if I was interested to taking pictures? I said yes, I figured why not, they could be good to show off on Facebook. Ahaha!

What is the most unexpected thing that’s ever happened to you while traveling?

When I travel, for work or for myself, I try to not expect anything, then everything is surprising, could be good or bad but, it’s still something unexpected, I think having too many expectations can lead to frustrations as well. If you don’t get what you want, you’re disappointed and if you get it as you expected, then you get bored quickly and want more.

What are your top international choices for men seeking 1 revelry, 2 relaxation, 3 reinvention?

Japan, Japan, Japan, I’ve never been but it’s a dream of mine. I don’t know if it fulfills all the seeks, but for me it certainly would. Travelling to Japan has been a dream since I was a child, and I want so much to meet Sangoku, look him up.

What are you reading?

It’s a comic book called “Omnibus of Batman–Court of the Owls” written by Scott Snyder and penciled by Greg Capullo, it’s amazing! Have a look.

Where do you go to switch off?

To my girlfriend’s place, we travel so we don’t see each other that often. When I’m with her, we force each other to just turn off everything and enjoy our time together.

Three products you can’t live without?

My jump rope, my kitchen tool to take off the middle of the apples, and “A World without Batman”, as far as pop culture goes.
