Who is Domenique Melchior?

Dominique Melchior is an accomplished model with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Although he initially pursued a career in professional soccer, fate ultimately led him to the world of modeling, where he was discovered by his mother agent, Kosmas from Wiener Models in Vienna.

Domenique’s unique character and striking appearance have earned him a place on high-profile runways for luxury brands such as Armani, Roberto Cavalli, and Dsquared2, among others. His talents were soon recognized by Ford NY, and he was quickly signed. Since then, Dominique has been featured in prominent publications including Vogue, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, and more.

Armani has become a loyal client, entrusting Domenique with numerous campaigns and the promotion of their Armani Code Fragrance. As his modeling career has taken him across the globe, Dominique has developed a love for traveling and experiencing different cultures. He believes that this has helped him to bring a unique perspective to his work and has also given him an appreciation for the diversity of beauty around the world.

In addition to his modeling work, Domenique has a passion for sports, which has led him to explore other physical activities such as surfing, Thai boxing, and yoga. These hobbies have not only kept him in great physical shape but have also allowed him to connect with different cultures and lifestyles. His passion for the industry, extensive experience, and dedication to his craft have made him an influential figure in the modeling world.

What are your first thoughts on awakening in the morning?

Being happy to be alive and healthy.

Do you drink coffee or tea?

Coffee all the way.  

Do you sing in the shower? If so, what was the last song?

I’m not a shower singer. 

Any humbling moments from your first time on the runway?

My first runway show was for Emporio Armani, which was a huge honor and opportunity for me. However, it was also quite nerve-wracking because not only was I walking for one of the biggest names in the industry, but there were also many celebrities in the audience, including Brad Pitt himself. It was definitely a humbling experience to be in the presence of such great talent and achievement.

Your face (and body) are known globally, how were you chosen to model?

I was inspired by a thoughtful gift my friends had made for their girlfriends, which led me to come up with a unique idea for a Christmas present for my family. I decided to create a personalized calendar featuring my own photos and went to a professional photo studio to have it made. The calendar turned out really well, and without me knowing my dad had sent them to Wiener Models, which is now my mother agency. They liked my photos so much that they signed me up for a modeling contest, which I ultimately won, and that was the start of my career in the industry.

Did you take pleasure from your live TV moment on Top Model?

It was an honor for me to serve as a guest judge on Austria’s Next Top Model, and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience working with Lena Gercke on live TV.

What are you working on at the moment?  

My biggest passion is videography, and I am currently working on transitioning from being in front of the camera to working behind it as a cinematographer. 

What would be your super power?

To be able to adjust my frequencies as needed. Like being able to walk through fire or walk on water.

Do you read books? If so what was the last one?

I do read books. I’m currently reading The Medical Medium by Antony William.

Do you get bored easily?

I like to travel and If I get stuck somewhere for too long, I get bored. I love to be on the constant move.

Is there a quote that speaks to you?

Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.

How would you describe your personal style?

I’m very laid back and like comfortable clothes, so you could say hippieish. 

Motorcycle or Car?

Since I am an adrenaline junkie, I have to pass on the motorcycle. That would be the end of me. So I’d say car.

What does your grooming/skincare regimen look like?

For the face I love to use Rose Hip Oil and for the hair I use a little coconut oil.

Do you think it’s important for a man to be sexy?

If he wants to be sexy. 

What does your fitness regimen look like?

Prior to my surgery last summer I was doing Muay Thai (boxing) 5 days a week and surf whenever I can. Unfortunately I’m still dealing with my injury and spending most days in the gym now. 

What makes you very happy?

To have a loving wife, family, friends and health.

Are you a Cat or Dog man?

I love animals in general but to answer this question correctly I go for a dog.

What qualities do you seek in your male friends? 

I’m a very competitive person and surround myself with such. 

What do you do to relax?

I love to meditate, steam room and sauna, a drive to the beach and surfing.

Who do you think are the most exciting people in the world today?

I’m inspired by people who are trying to make the planet a better place and by those who raise awareness of consciousness, promoting a more harmonious world where we can all coexist.

What social issue are you most passionate about?

Self-enhancement and healing are in my opinion important social issues as they relate to the well-being and personal development of individuals. These issues can have a significant impact on individuals, their families, and communities. 

What makes a perfect man?

Rather than striving to be a perfect man, it is more valuable to focus on being a good person, treating others with respect and empathy, and constantly working on personal growth and self-improvement. It’s also important to recognize that everyone has flaws and imperfections, and that these qualities can actually make a person more relatable and human.
