MR. ANDREAS GIESEN

What's your first thought when you wake up?

My first thought goes to my stomach. I am like what’s for breakfast, lol.

What is the day like for you?

I woke up around 9, I do some stretches, breakfast, then ballet class from 11 to 1pm. After that it depends either rehearsals until 7pm or meetings in the afternoon. Then physiotherapy or Pilates. I then have a show from 8 to 11 pm. That’s kind of how my routine is.

Coffee or tea?

Tea, always.

Do you sing in the shower?

Not really.

Boxers or briefs?

It depends but usually, briefs.

What do you have for breakfast?

Porridge, or cereals with tea and juice. Or on Sunday pancakes.

I am inspired by a lot of people, dancers, actors, designers and sport personalities. I think Ballet combines all those elements that is why it is really important to find creativity in those personalities I admire, such as Carlos Acosta a Cuban Ballet dancer, he is truly a legend. I also admire Will Smith and Neil Patrick Harris they are amazing actors and humans.

Do you get bored easily?

Yes, really easily.

What did it feel like the first time you stepped onto the stage on opening night?

It felt amazing. The heat of the lights on your skin, the power of the orchestra’s music, the tension of the audience, and at the end the acclamations. The first time you experience this, it marks you forever and it gives so much power and energy. Ballet is made for the stage, you need all these elements to perform well.

What music is on your phone right now?

Entrepreneur by Pharrell Williams and Jay Z.

What accomplishment are you most proud of at the moment?

Being able to live with my passion is the thing I am the most proud of.

Do you ever allow yourself a day of just lying in bed?

Yes of course. That happened a lot during containment.

Which women do you admire?

I admire powerful and strong women. There is nothing more attractive then true self confidence.

Is there time for love with your schedule?

There is always time for love, it’s actually a great inspiration. I am in a relationship with my girlfriend of four years now and I have never felt so good in my life.

Do you think it’s important for a man to be sexy?

I don’t know if being sexy is a big thing—But it’s really important to feel sexy. In my opinion feeling sexy brings self confidence and that is the key for success.

I would love to fly. If I had to choose a superpower it would definitely be flying. Everyday I jump and struggle against gravity. It would be thrilling to stay in the air for as long as I want.

I love London. It’s one of the best places in Europe for artists.

If you had a choice, where would you choose to spend your last day on earth?

I would love the spend it at the beach. Life is always better at the beach.

What makes a perfect man in 2020?

2020 is a tough year for everyone, the man of the year would be someone brave, as always self confident and offering a lot of humor to face these hard times.
