What are your first thoughts on awakening in the morning?

My first thought is that it’s a new day with a new chance, a new opportunity and new changes—I am blessed to live one more day. 

Do you drink coffee or tea?

I drink coffee.

Bath or Shower?

Shower.

What part of the world are you from? 

I am from Alexandria, Egypt. I have been living in the USA for fifteen years now.

How did you first get into boxing?

I started boxing when I was twelve years old after I watched my first movie in the theater, it was “Rocky”.

The most humbling moment from on of your boxing events?

I was fighting in Mexico, it was a professional fight and my opponent was hurt. He couldn’t see with one eye and I moved around, I did it want to touch him until his trainer stops the fight to protect him.

Your main flaw?

My main flaw, staying disciplined.

What scares you? And what makes you angry?

What scares me is being unfair to anyone around me. What makes me angry is when I can’t be there to help some one close to me or if someone lies to me. 

As a Professional Boxer, what does your fitness regimen look like?   

I do body conditioning and running. I train in the morning, and box in afternoon. I have a training program with sparring time, this depends on the days of the week and what we are preparing for.

What would be your superpower?

My superpowers are my brain and my left hook.

Do you feel like a champion?

I represented my country in three sports where I became world champion in two of them: Boxing and Sanda. When I was twenty-three, I had a two-hundred and ninety-five amateur boxing fight and I became one of the best fighters during the African Games—where I took the gold medal and was ranked number three in the world, making me World Champion in Sanda. I have fought over fifty Sanda fights, fifteen Kick Boxing fights and an MMA Ring of Combat champion in the one-hundred and eighty-five weight class.

Do you like to dress up and does it reflect your personality?

I like to dress up and look good for my fights or when I train. It’s important for me to personally look my best in ring and outside. I am a very calm person, so I dress accordingly.

Do Professional Boxers pay a lot of attention to their grooming in the locker rooms after their events?

Boxers have time to pay attention to eachother’s grooming, we just talk about training or what happened during the spar.

Your face (and body) are known globally, how were you chosen to model?

I went a friend’s birthday event, he happens to be famous in the fashion industry as he owns The Confessional Showroom in New York City. That is where I was introduced to the head of U Model Management, he asked me if I’m a model, I said no and he said you are with me then, and so I was signed.

What was your latest stylish purchase?

My latest style purchase was a slim suit jacket from Banana Republic’s new collection. 

What are your favorite labels?

Hugo Boss and Prada.  

Do you think it’s important for a man to be sexy?

I think it’s important for man to take care of himself and look his best. As for sexy, It’s a gift, you are either born with it or not. But, in the end, we are all equal in different ways.

Name a woman you find most desirable?

Most desirable, Penélope Cruz.

What cologne do you wear if any?

My cologne is Creed.

Boxers or Briefs? 

Boxers. 

Motorcycle or Car?

Motorcycle.

Do you read books? If so what was the last one?  

Books yes, “Awareness”. 

What’s something you could eat for a week straight?

My mother’s Tuna Pasta Bake. It’s my Death Row meal.

Is there a quote that speaks to you?

“You are what you think of you”.

Dogs or cats?

Dogs.

What qualities do you seek in your male friends? 

Loyalty. 

What’s something you could eat for a week straight?

Pasta.

Who do you think are the most exciting people in the world today?

The most exciting people in the world are the people that are doing what they love with no pressure.

What accomplishment are you most proud of at the moment?

I’m boxing in The Garden in New York City on the 29 of October.

What social issue are you most passionate about?

Human rights is one of the social issues that I care deeply about.

A place to lose yourself?

The ocean. 

What would your perfect night be like?

A nice dinner and a movie. 

What do you wear to sleep?

I sleep in my boxers.

What makes a perfect man?

What makes a perfect man is his kindness, confidence, intelligence and hissupport for others.
